This post was inspired by my friend Yuulye’s fascination with math. Since he and my kids love math, this is dedicated to them.

Many are baffled when it comes to math. I belong to that percentage when I was in my junior years in high school. I was having a hard time catching up. Things had a sudden turnaround because I learned to love numbers. I’m must warn you though that I’m not your
Typical math whiz.

For those who love math, here’s trivia for you to answer.

Trivia # 1
As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives.
Every wife had seven sacks,
Every sack had seven cats,
Every cat had seven kits,
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were going to St. Ives?

Trivia # 2
If you follow my rule with fifteen
Then you’ll surely get seventy-four.
The routine can then also be seen,
With what number you wish – say a score
With a score, you get seventy-one
But with five, just an eighty you’ll see.
So, perhaps you can figure for fun
What the answer with thirty will be.

Trivia # 3
A multiple of 11 I be,
Not odd, but even, you see;
My digits, a pair,
When multiplied there,
Make a cube and a square
Out of me.
Who am I?

Trivia # 4
My two little digits, you see,
Make a perfect cube added to 3
But if added, it’s seen that they total 13.
So what in the world can I be?

Trivia # 5
If my first were a 4,
And my second a 3,
What I am would be double
The number you’d see.
For I’m only three digits,
Just three in a row.
So, what must I be?
Don’t say you don’t know.

Answers will be posted soon. In the meantime please try to answer them.
