In the wilderness, a heavy feeling can be felt in the humid air A patch of weeds and overgrown bushes grow unruly in a part of the wilderness Wild flowers in mix colors grows beautifully left alone A lone cabin stood neglected in the open space of the middle of nowhere A billows of smoke from its chimney puffs its way out onto the gloomy night sky The dusk can be discerned beginning to swallow the remaining light An ancient lady according to rumor lives alone her age unknown
You got lost in that part of the wilderness. Will you seek shelter or run the opposite direction?

I would go to the house. I bet the woman is lonely and seems scary because she isolated herself from people who like to judge others. I think she would love a visit from someone who just wants to hear her wisdom and share a glass of tea.

Lol π I love it when that sort of creativity hits me (though I don’t always appreciate it when my mind wants to be full awake with creativity when I’m exhausted and trying to sleep) π β€οΈ

True! I slept late because of it. My husband was already scolding me since we have an early appointment for our Annual physical exam. π But I canβt put my pen down until I finish my idea. Why do ideas come at the most inopportune hours, right?π

your description of wilderness and barren feelings are vivid and captivating. I am drawn to emptiness so maybe I will explore its depths. your poem goes beyond the ordinary, very existential Winnie.

Seek shelter or run in the opposite direction? Well, I’d ask Yah (God) what to do.

Lovely. Nice image that reflects your writing well, offering a choice to stay or go. The tendency is to run but what if there is an unprecedented opportunity just waiting? π
