Hello lovely people! 😍 I’m here for another challenge created by dear Richa of Iscriblr. I love participating in her challenge because of its freedom to create your work in any way you like. I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her unending support until now.
ABOUT THE CHALLENGE
Every Thursday, I will pick up a “prompt word” to be acted upon by y’all. You are free to go wild with your imagination and interpret the “prompt” in any way that you like – photo, prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, quotes, articles or drawing/painting – whatever works for you!
In short, it’s all about you being the BOSS and choosing the best way possible to express and depict your understanding of the prompt and go berserk! – Richa, Iscriblr
TOPIC FOR TODAY : RAIN/RAINING/RAINDROPS
Here’s my take on it.
Rivulets of sweat
trickling down my back,
I am parched like a neglected plant
drying up like the Sahara desert
The thundering roars
of the clouds in the welkin
hold a promise
of the long-awaited rain to come
The sudden cloudburst
was a welcome reprieve from the scorching heat of dog days
showering me and the dry earthen floor
As I welcome the rain
images of iridescent viridescent green and flowers
flooded my vision
I am in blithe spirit
for the renewal
the rain will bestow
as it’ll wash away impurities and regrows something better
The onset of monsoon rains
is making its mark again
to scatter its blessings
into the vast earthly realm
The rainy season here in our country officially starts in June but there are scattered rain showers occurring in May. I can’t wait for the dry season to be over because it is truly unbearable. How’s the weather in your country?
