Perfect heart-shaped flower
adorn the garden of thy rose-scented bower
bearing Old-World charm
makes one’s heart warm
But have you heard of the folklore
what this flower betoken for
of a princess’ love lamented
to a prince, she once tormented
A noble prince tried in vain
to win her heart but oblivious she remained
even though exquisite gifts he brought
all his efforts have been for naught
The noble prince wearied and heartsick
pulled a dagger from his sheath
and stabbed his heart in anguish
forever his agony vanquish
Remorse she felt
for his prince too late her heart melt
proclaiming she’ll bleed for her prince forever
up until now her heart still bleeds as ever
Hey guys! I hope you like this collaboration I have with Shelley of Quaint Revival. She’s one of the sweetest here in the blogosphere. She taught me a lot especially about photography. I hope you can check her out if you haven’t drop by her wonderful blog.
I am deeply honored when she invited me to choose from her great gallery of photos and create a poem. She knows how I love photo prompts. I had difficulty choosing from her gallery because I love all of the photos she shared. After browsing from her gallery, the featured photo here was the one that caught my interest and I was not mistaken.
Thank you for reading! ❤️
P.S. I’m here again asking for your patience. I know I have been neglecting my blog lately. Forgive me for not repying to all your wonderful comments because of the preparation I need to do. I’ll try replying while on the road. It will definitely be a long drive! I’m so happy to share with you that my family and I will go on a vacation out of town. Finally! Clue: sand and waves. 😉
Aw – Winnie, I’m so touched! Your poem is beautiful and goes so well with your eloquent words! Thank you, dear, your blogging friendship means the world to me! Enjoy your time with your family – your fans will be here waiting for you!! xx

It’s no problem for me if you don’t reply right away. I know how hard it is to maintain your blog in long road trips.
The poem however, just made my heart ached. This line “pulled a dagger from his sheath
and stabbed his heart in anguish” broke my heart. Felt his pain.

Hi, Jess! I missed talking to you. 😊 The internet connection was terrible. You’re right. It was really hard replying and maintaining a blog.
Napasubo kami. Ang layo hahaha. But worth it naman.
I felt his pain too.

I miss talking to you too Weng. ❤
It's hard to imagine that back in our teens we were completely satisfied without internet, now I can live without it but it feels strange not to have it.

I know the feeling. Whenever I’m in that spot I almost wish I can send them my reply through telepathy.
