Often times we may wish that we could go back in time and give our former selves advice and words of wisdom. If you could go back in time, what would advice or encouragement would you give to yourself?
Dear 15 year old me,
Life is not easy. It will be a bumpy road with highs and lows. People will disappoint and hurt you but let not this dishearten you. Let this be a challenge for you and make them your inspiration for making your life better.
Let God be your compass. Have faith. Whenever you feel lost He will guide you to the right direction. Β
Love your family more. Put your family first after God for they will be your anchor when the sail is rough. They will never forsake you for they understand you better.Β
Always do your best. Do not shortchange yourself. You deserve the best. I know you can do whatever you want to be if you put your mind and heart to it.Β
Show kindness to others. It is not a sign of weakness but rather it exhibits a true strength of character. Where no one is kind give it anyway. It might make a difference.
Love your flaws and imperfections. The worldβs not perfect. No oneβs perfect. Be yourself. Be authentic. When you love yourself in a balanced way you see goodness. For goodness is what the world needs.Β
Your fortyish self,Β
Great advice. π

Beautiful Winnie! Loved reading through. I especially loved when you wrote, βbe yourself, be authentic.β Yes, I agree! Our most beautiful self, is simply being who we are. Thatβs it. Trying not to impress anyone. Once we achieve that, get to that place, weβll experience true happiness, inside and out. π

Thank you! That was me when I was 15 years old. Insecure, low self-esteem, always thinking of what others will think. So very true! I only found true happiness when I accepted my strengths and weaknesses. π

Oh so true – same here ππ½ββοΈ I think we arenβt alone also in the things that we feel and experience with self-esteem during our teenage years. Yes, itβs only when we accept who we are that we can truly start living freely and happy.
